Preliminary Test

Blood is one of the most important parts in saving the lives of patients who require transfusions, so blood collection must be from a HEALTHY DONOR.

Therefore

“Not everyone can donate blood. There are several conditions that must be met by donors, such as health condition, age, body weight, body temperature, blood pressure and hemoglobin levels as well as ABO and Rhesus blood group systems. “

Blood Tapping

After the preliminary examination, the donor will be asked to wash his arm first then taken to the Donor Chair, the donor's arm will be cleaned with antiseptic, then blood will be drawn using a Sterile Blood Bag, during the blood collection process, the blood will be weighed and homogenized automatically using Blood Collection Mixers. Once finished, the blood bag tube will be shaved using Tube Strippers and then sealed using an Electric Tube Sealer (to ensure the blood bag tube is completely closed). In the blood collection process, blood samples will be taken for HIV, HBsAg, HCV and Syphilis examination, antibody screening and blood group confirmation.

Infectious Disease Screening, Blood Type Confirmation and Donor Antibody Screening

After the blood collection process, the blood sample in the Test Tube will be examined for HIV, HBsAg, HCV and Syphilis, Antibody screening and Blood Type Confirmation, this examination is MANDATORY to obtain Safe Blood.

Blood Component Separation and Processing

In each blood bag can be separated into three blood components, namely: Red Blood Cells (RC), platelets, and plasma. Before being rotated, each bag will be weighed using the ANALITICAL / CENTRIFUGE BALANCE tool, then rotated using the REFRIGERATED CENTRIFUGE tool and the separation process using the PLASMA SEPARATORS tool. Thus, it is expected that patients can receive blood according to their needs.

The Red Blood Cell component is used for therapy for the diagnosis of anemia, while the platelet component is used to treat thrombocytopenia, and the Plasma component can be frozen with the FreezMatic tool and can be processed into components such as FFP and Cryoprecipitate and can even be used Fractionation (Human Albumin, Factor VIII, Factor IX, IgG, etc.).

Current technology using inline-filter blood bags, inline-filter blood bags will be hung using the FiltraMatic tool, blood components that use this type of bag can reduce the number of leukocytes, so it can help reduce the risk of transfusion reactions in patients

Blood Storage

Maintaining the QUALITY of blood components and examination reagents is the most important thing in the Blood Transfusion Service flow, therefore in choosing BLOOD STORAGE equipment should be done properly. Our Blood storage equipment already has USFDA, CE and ISO certificates so that it can reduce the risk of cell damage in blood components.

Red Blood Cells (RC) can be stored in a BLOOD BANK REFRIGERATOR at a temperature of 2-4 ºC, platelets must be shaken using a PLATELET AGITATOR then stored at room temperature 22 ºC using a PLATELET INCUBATOR, Plasma and Cryoprecipitate that have been frozen are stored in a PLASMA FREEZER at a temperature of -30 ºC for 1 year then if Plasma and Cryoprecipitate will be transfused, they need to be thawed using PLASMA THAWING for 10-20 minutes, Fractionation Results (Human Albumin, Factor VIII, Factor IX, IgG, etc.) can be stored using a PHARMACY REFRIGERATOR. And reagents can be stored using a LABORATORY REFRIGERATOR

Patient Service Lab or Blood Bank (in hospitals) is the last stage of examination before blood is transfused to patients. Therefore, this flow is the most important part of Blood Safety.
